i don't post here very much at all any more for pretty obvious reasons but i feel like i shouldn't completely abandon ship. this is a little test piece for me as i'm learning a new way of texturing that seems pretty effective :]

edit, 10/12/16: i've gone ahead and followed eyleen's advice and made the bumpmap way less strong and thrown on a light ambient occlusion map. I have also made a correct specmap instead of a rushed one that represented the metal incorrectly. Hopefully the sword looks a little better now, thanks Eyleen. I'll be looking into doing more AO in the future as it seems like a pretty easy way to get great looking detail on any model.

The blade texture kind of looks like stone to me
