"Use" does not include alterations. If you want to alter someone else's work, get permission...

For the LOD's should they be custom made or just generated by openbrf? Also if we do submit a weapon could we supply two versions of the same weapon?

As Senni wrote, custom made lods are better, because the automatically created ones can be a bit sketchy..
Why would you submit two versions? Just choose the one you like better.
