Damage colour indication on weapons - oracolus - 14-02-2017 When ever someone drops a sword or shoots an Arrow and wants you to pick it up you can never be sure if it´s better or worse. My idea is that the colour of the weapon (Wich is White in most cases) will appear either Green or Red when looked upon. Green will show superior stats while Red shows inferior ones compared to your current loadout. How could this be implemented in the game and how usefull would it be? What do you Think? RE: Damage colour indication on weapons - Bobo - 14-02-2017 I'd say it is just the fun to learn and know by name which items are better than those you hold. I can remember countless hours I've spent in the The Complete Guide to the Swadian's Equipment! thread (http://forum.nordinvasion.com/showthread.php?tid=17198) and I don't regret any minute ![]() (lots of thanks to everyone who's been keeping that thread complete and up to date, extremely useful). As such, I'd say no to this feature request. RE: Damage colour indication on weapons - Bobo - 15-02-2017 But of course. However if one finds his knowledge of some subject somewhat incomplete, it's the best reason to study. What I was trying to say is that searching for info and getting known the gear is a part of the mod and also fun. Similar reasoning seems to stand behind the custom that the stats of a new item are not being unveiled until the item would be actually crafted or looted. RE: Damage colour indication on weapons - Krex - 15-02-2017 So how do you decide what weapon is better than an other? Some might trade speed for swing damage, or swing damage for thrust damage etc. RE: Damage colour indication on weapons - Rezev - 15-02-2017 Well somehow this idea is nice; many times I saw new players replacing Fiendish or SS bow with marketplace bows (from ground ofc.) Maybe instead of whole item name colour change, there should be just small coloured dot before item name. RE: Damage colour indication on weapons - Bobo - 15-02-2017 As for me I must say I would miss those questions, you know: "Fiendish better or SS?". With 4 ppl replying the same time. ![]() RE: Damage colour indication on weapons - LordChaos - 15-02-2017 +1 with Tofu on that subject. How do you define a better weapon? Maybe it could be doable for ammo, but then you'll need to consider throwables etc etc.. It will be endless, why would a specific class or 2 get an extra over the others? Then people will complain about 1h weapons, bastards, polearms, 2h weapons etc.. And that's obviously undefinable? As Bobo suggested there are threads here to help newbies, and if they are lazy, they'll just have to ask people around ingame and get a lazy answer or complete or troll answer. It would be deserved the effort they would have put into it to understand some "mechanics".
