This idea is a must-have. Most high tier equipment does not come with space for your own coat of arms, although one should assume that the highest tier troops are priviliged/nobility, that does not look like average soldiers.
Moreover, this would probably solve the hassle of everyone going like "You have to make a green trans!", "If he gets a green trans, then I want a red one!".. people could just choose a banner that suits their favourite choice of colours, problem solved.
