we had 2 platoons together (~90 players) doing a massive convoy with tank escort, air support, paratroopers and APCs. We came accross another platoon (40+ players) who asked for another platoon to show up and man , was that fkg epic. You have squads of infiltrator hacking terminals and take control of the enemies turrets, dog fightings over our heads and airships crashing on people or command centers (worthy sacrifice I say) etc.. It's a night, all you see sometimes is just the fire coming out of the guns and the rockets going by, the AA shooting in the air just like in WW2 and people dropping from the sky to invade the base ...
It was the most intense hour of my planetside 2 time
If the game would cost $50 , it'd be totally worth it for that .. but it's Free to play ! Not even Pay To Win ! You have lvl 1 killing lvl 20+. More advanced weapons just have less trade offs, but they all have advantage and disadvantages. Friday nights = Ops night where the devs organize battles and platoons fight to conquer X location and hold it for X time.

I play the game as well for like ~1 week or something and it is pure fun, I havent expect that.
It feels very dynamic and the map size is just awesome. Of course, the graphics are not as good as bf3 but for a f2p game it looks quite well and runs smoothly on my ~1,5 year old system, also at very huge battles constantly 30-35 fps. (f.e. Guild Wars 2 wvwvw with much less players something arround 10-15 fps -> unplayable)

I know some play on Woodman , and some others on the other EU servers ( for their privacy I won'T say who plays where
) but I play on Mattherson NA East
