The only good solution to me seems to be a kiting server. Seing the behaviour of some of those "kiters" towards others I dont think the current servers should be used for that.
I'd say we set up 1 kiting servers so those people can throw insults at eachother whilst deciding who has to "leave the server", could be fun to watch Big Grin

Well, they might be some being rude, but I for myself always asked nicely when I wanted to kite alone. Sounded like "Hey, would you mind if I kite this map alone?" Most part of the community would probably say yes Wink

One thing is obvious, we won't get anywhere in our discussions here if the devs don't give us a true answer on their standing on this subject.

Wasn't refering to all people kiting. Sadly a good chunk of ppl kititng regularily seem to be blatant assholes with no manners whatsoever.
Just saw it on a server yesterday, 3-4 people haassing one guy because his marketplace archer gear wasn't "good enough" to kite with them.
This and many occasions like that are the reasons for me being generally suspicious towards kiters.

We just need something that we can do if there aren't any players around or all servers full. Player will currently just quit and thats stupid :/

I personally agree that kiting takes an immense amount of teamwork, just as much if not more so than barricading. I've kited with some of the other people on teamspeak before through wave 20 even on the current nerfed maps once or twice. At least up through 16. Why not dedicate a single server with no support items allowed to be spawned in? Do an EU hard server or something? Nerfing the maps even more just annoys off the already struggling community as far as I can see. Kiting will always be apart of this game no matter which way you slice it.

Kiting also starts servers as well on a positive note. When there are no Hard servers going and everyone is playing a Normal server I'll hop on with say 3-4 other house members and startup a Hard run and start kiting. By wave 8 it's full. With a nerfed map it just makes it that much harder to start up a run.

Kiting requires A LOT more teamwork and communication than cading does. In Trickster events, we never even talk tactics or anything, we just tell jokes and the game plays itself. When we're kiting, we all join TS with a mic and actually discuss tactics like what waves to use the barrels on, what kiting path to use for different waves and much more.

THIS! Pathing. If you don't path right kiting with like half a dozen people and you mis-throw, your dead instantly if a bot is too close. Everyone is so used to cading and maybe a cading position will change but so what. Kiting tactics are more advanced and require quite a lot of skill as well as voice over TS.

People talk in Trickster events??  :o

I 100% agree that kiting takes far more teamwork and communication than cading does.  Also agree with Sharma.. Many successful runs (most public runs) start as kite runs.  I still disagree with designated kite servers though.. It takes away  one benefit of kiting (starting runs) and enhances the problem a lot of people seem to have (kiting is too "exclusive").

The only problem I see with kiting is the people who demand in a rude way that people must leave "their" server and allow them to kite.  However, I see no reason why the community as a whole should be punished for the behavior of select individuals.  It's already very clearly stated in the rules that you can't demand others leave a server.  If people are doing this get on IRC or Teamspeak and report them to an admin; we're more than happy to take care of these situations Wink.  Keep in mind public servers are just that - everyone has the same right to be there.

I'm not sure there's any way to completely eliminate this type of behavior but making it so people can't kite really isn't the way to try.  It's the same as being rude in the public in-game chat; people are going to do it and they will be dealt with.  If the same actions taken with kiting were applied to the public chat then it would no longer exist due to some people being rude and abusing it (obviously just an example, not saying in-game chat should be removed).
