Haha so funny to see these old maps one more time, especially the mountain pass...... it's been changed alot all the time.... and beach assault.... well, no offense to some players out there but you needed skill when you fought there without being a knight 8)

Here's an old screenshot where we got til odin (unfortunately many of us crashed when he spawned).
We used the refillable resurrection tome to spawn as many horses as we could to block thor's cavalry by placing our horses between the houses at their spawns Wink

@Drunken Monkey, I remember hearing about the horse barricades. I believe it was only ever used on EU servers though, since EU was way ahead of everyone in terms of items at the time.

And in terms of skill, you really did need a bit more to get farther. I can't speak for EU (there were definitely some skilled players), but on NA, players were skilled enough to hold their own against huscarls as sergeants. Morning star was pretty rigged. I think the stats of huscarls were also higher. These days people are just spoiled by high level players shielding. And shields weren't always as tough as they are now, so you'd have to do quite a bit of mid-wave shield switching by picking them up off the floor. I don't believe there were anvils either so shielding tactics weren't as viable as they are now.

I used to do this before I and most other people got a royal. Did you have a guy, or a few guys pick away the dropped weapons on top of the shields so the shielders can get easier access to the shields without getting hit by the nords?

I still do this except with huscarl shields if I'm too lazy to walk to the anvil. Works well after troopers (then I tell redshirts to pick up heavy round shields dropped by nords for wave 17) and the first 4 rounds of hard mode.
