Use a knight to get to wave 8 and kill some many einherjars until you get a war pick. You even can use a mounted Commando with some skill. You only need a good map! So where is the problem?

i support it and btw to prevent high level players getting most of the loot i was thinking about a share loot system (more info look at the future requests forum)
combined with your idea it would solve the loot problems we have now
