I've, apparently, completed this quest five times in a row. This happened after a lull in the website connection, when you don't receive XP and gold for awhile, even though you're in the fighting and making kills, then it catches up with itself.

well, just say yay! and enjoy your 5 staff! (like I enjoy my unsuable 3 sledgehammer...)

Old and known bug that happens once in a while. Call it winning the jackpot.
