I've just returned after a long break to find the hero classes have been released and I can't even come close to paying for even 1 of my 4 characters to respec... Did anyone get a free respec, or do I just have to grind away for a week or two?

There wasn't any free respeces for non-donator members. There was only 1 week of unlimited respeces for donators that's all. By normal, donators have 1 respec per 1 month available.
