[Bug] Upward polearm attacks are not parryable - Sodapop - 30-07-2013
If you do not have a shield, the new upward attacks with polearms cannot be defended against. This makes players with spear and shield, or even just a polearm alone very powerful, as mobs without shields cannot stop your attacks. However, mobs with the same cannot be 'held' like normal, unless you want to take shield damage.

But seriously, they're blockable, just block up.
The only tricky things about the stab are that it can reach past friendlies very easily, and sometimes past the shield line if angled correctly.

It's still just for me then. I've seen other people do it, but then I try and always end up parrying downwards with automatic parrying turned on. Makes the spear + shield nords impossible to fight except at range or with a shield.

Some servers do have autoblock turned off which leads to bots only blocking downward, but that affects all weapons.
