On the Global Nerf - clown1231 - 10-04-2012

From what I understand, the global nerf was designed to make no changes in the difficulty, but rather decrease the numbers, so that instead of 65 armor, we have 45. Now that I've played, it's clear that the difficulty has changed. In fact, in its current state, I can't see myself playing this mod. Where before it was fairly common to reach past the captains with a few decently leveled players, it is a common failure point, even more than it was before. Enemies that used to glance never seem to anymore, and even though they don't do much damage, it adds up fast.

I don't want to sound like I'm wining, but honestly, the mod has become prohibitively difficult. Unfortunately, I am at a loss on how to fix it while keeping the global nerf in place... Any ideas?

Was happily getting past Veteran Pikeman today, averaging Nord Huscarls - We didn't have a particularly strong team, but there was a reasonable amount of teamwork going on.

I suggest that you keep trying and maybe collaborate a little more. I've got no problems! :S

Avoid playing in servers with a lot of new players/leechers/spectators if you really want to go far, it's gotten much more difficult to carry teams on later waves.

Unfortunately it's luck of the draw - red shirts, maybe a map like Hidden Cave, and you're not going to get far.

Remember that there was a previous patch increasing the armour rating of the infantry armours, basically, they're just taking away the buff.

As long as you have two commandos, I think you can at the very least reach troopers on Hidden Cave. The inner part of the tower there is a very good spot that can be covered with just two or three guys shielding (at least until you reach the point where sharpshooters are shooting your flank).

Not really, before that patch the highest common armor for Commandos was Banded Mail Armor which had 55 Body Armor, now it is Transitional with 70 and Banded Mail is decent only for Sergeants.

It doesn't change that I get killed a lot easier now...  :-\

Not to mention that I just reached Sergeant, so now it feels like I've gotten nowhere.

everyone has been whining about the new update. personally i like it better, no more people getting 200-3. The only problem is there is rarely teamwork. (so far I've only gotten past skirmishers once and I've played about 20 games) In my opinion leave it how it is.

Now I understand why I was sucking so much. I sold my iron mace and bought a claymore. Ragefest is concluded!

Since that's over, I agree, hopefully the slightly improved difficulty will inspire more team effort.
