[Forum] Nord Invasion Theme Beta - Birdtalon - 09-05-2012
Hello Swadians,
I'm just making this little thread to announce the first beta of the new forum theme. It is not set as default yet because as you may have guessed it is a work in progress.
My mindset behind it is not to change functionality, the look and feel of the forums will remain largely the same, yet I would like to give our forum a little more personality than just using the default theme how it is. I searched for a fitting theme for the forum for a while without success, so eventually I decided to modify this default one myself.
To access the theme and use it you must click on Profile, then Look and Layout

Then find where it says Current Theme and click (change)

Scroll down to find the theme "nordinvasion" and click Use this theme

So, feel free to comment, criticise and suggest improvements. I will be updating this periodicly and will welcome suggestions.
You can revert back to the default theme the same way.

Will it get updated automatically (no need to change with every update)?
Anyway, I like the flags, except the 'New Posts' flag has two sticks which looks odd.

Yes any updates will override the old one.
With the flags. I needed something to distinguish between two icons.
1. [Image: on2.png]
Means there are new posts in subforums and this forum.
2. [Image: on.png]
Means there are new posts in this forum.
If you have an improvement I will be happy to hear it.

maybe the flag could be in the middle. so forum= up, sub-forum= half way up, no new= down

Perhaps colours on the flags to symbolise things? Such as red to mean no new posts and green to mean new posts or something ;p

bright green and dark red would be great.
E: I would also suggest making a 'mark all topics as read' option, pretty useful.

There is a Mark all Messages Read button already.
Anyway, this is a green flag. Compared to the red ones.
