I think since you can have infinite arrows, from the box, I think that you should be able to regenerate your broken shields (or at least repair it) from the same box (Or a similar one).

As shields can be a vital part to the game, im not sure it should be so easy to restore them, however i was thinking to balance this, maybe adding a shrine or something, where you can pay ~100 gold to restore your shield / health / ammo / everything in one go, and it only takes about 5 seconds? What do you think?

I like the sound of that. Totally worth 100g, and it would reduce the amount of gold in circulation (which other games worry about).
