Does you other chars have 1k gold? If they don't that might be it then.

Good point, I don't think I thought of that. Can't get him 1000, so I'll assume that fixes it.

It is a new feature that is still being worked on. It should take from your guy that you are hiding it from.

This should be fixed now. There was a bug causing the character you were trying to hide to get checked for gold.
As Sargent Q said, the gold is supposed to be taken from the character you are on at the time.
