Will "DisplayPort-mini" work the same as a VGI. - Buttercup - 14-07-2014

Since my last computer died, I will be getting a new PC. The one I'm looking at has only one VGI port but two mini display ports. I was wondering if they play the same role or do different things all together? I realize that if they play the same role I'll need a adapter for each and that's not a problem.

I realize that, and it would be so much simpler if there were two DVI's but there's not sadly.

DVI and DisplayPort are both digital.  You can purchase a passive adapter to convert between them.  (For that matter, HDMI is digital as well and can be converted with the other two as long as you do not need audio over it.)
