"The Tragedy of the Kingdom" Sonnet - Looter - 17-11-2016 A Badly Written sonnet for one of my Brit.Lit. courses, now here for your entertainment. Enjoy. The Tragedy of The Kingdom
Disposed, crownless, without a throne Stowed in a dungeon, lays King Harlaus Monarch no more, A man without a home, Vassals scattered, his time to rule having long pass. Once proud ruler, of the mighty Swadian Kingdom One of many vying for control, of ever warring Calradia And of these wars brought plague, famine and doom Now besieged is Praven, a Capital much like Valencia. The final bastion of the Swadians, Praven’s gates battered, Arrow and sling were let loose, swords drawn, shields shattered. ‘To valor and honor!’, as the keep was stormed Swadia’s last noble knights cried out, sounding the battlehorn. Lone king sat on the throne, surrounded by fallen vassals and foes Hand shaking he removes his crown, abdicates and kneels head bent low.
