No. You can be a hero(Tier5).

Technically, yes. You can combine different classes on a single character.
If you do this, however, you will not be able to choose a hero class at level 52, which will lock you out from using specific gear. While making a hybrid is useful in some cases (eg. pikeman with 11 athletics), it usually does not pay off to restrict yourself to tier 4 items in terms of late game.

Tr4 + Tr1 + Tr1 or Tr4 + Tr2
That's the most common one for people that don't have cash for hero.
Then they respec when they do.
