New concept of archers - Ken_Repeaterman - 03-08-2019

Woody's attempt to change the speed of the bows hit a nerve. The thing is, before I came here, I was playing the pirate version of NI for the Archer, so I know what I'm writing about.

I would suggest revising the current concept of archers. They look alike, shoot equally fast and move equally fast.

1) Why there is no slow and killer prototype of the English longbowman? Which could have armor similar to the Guardian armor and copy the Archer of England and it should be really heavy. Only need not write that this Warden. Your Warden has escaped from Assassin's creed. And everyone else got it. 

2) also need a pretty quick Archer, short, mobile, bows, and the prerequisites for this we have. Fiendish and similar bows would be suitable for this class of archers. This archer could wear Tracker Armour and Bear sets and other assassin armor
 
3) Sentry and Sentinel and Ranger could be crossed into one class - "Ranger" and it will really be a real Ranger, ready to engage in close combat and take some damage

And now there is another slot for a brand new Archer class. But please don't need to create Archer hero with polearm + 250 as it was with Sentry. Let's really make the archers interesting and close to reality. 

And personally, I would suggest something new. Why not make a prototype Japanese Archer with a long asymmetrical bow that could be fast and inaccurate in normal mode and slow and accurate in "Sitting"mode. He could wear a Royal set.

But if continue with this absurd +1 Archer class should be hailer bow user, because Crossbowman have Repeaterman, and why not hailer bows then?

I'm not sure I translated it right. But I take it you think I want to make archers look like crossbowmen? No it isn't. I want to give them variety. That's what they don't have. The style of play of any Archer is run-jump-shot. I'm trying to suggest something new. A new concept that will keep your favorite style of play and bring something new

Ranger should have access to typhoon/stag. Maybe change stats to be slow bow+more damage?

Warden should have access to light/kiting armor

2 bow classes

1 slow bow class + more damage + armor
1 fast bow class +kite armor

The specialized armour class should not get access to a specialized weapon.

I would agree if not "armour" classes had specialised armour.

Like that I don't think jugg halb and ranger should have the best weapons but nothing is stoping them from having unique weapons.

It seems like melee heroes normally get lighter armour than normal. Note how the armour class has the armour that doesn't have this benefit but is still arguably better. 

If armour classes get weapons it will be on the same lines. The other classes will have arguably better weapons but that does not stop armour heroes wepaons being unique.

+Hailer bows are enough variety for me, was ton of joy during april event.

Coconut suggested giving a best-in-slot (most damaging) bow to the class that specializes in armour. Your examples show class locked pieces that have worse armour than its respective armour specialist's best-in-slot option:

Vagabond: Worse than Thanos Legacy.
Tsa: Worse than Leather Overmail.
Imp: Worse than Defender Armour.
pol: Worse than Defender Armour.
zwei helms: Worse than Defender Helmet.
Leg helms: Worse than Defender Helmet.
Royal helm: Worse than Defender Helmet.

Maybe if the suggestion was that Rangers should get access to a version of Typhoon that has worse stats, then your counterexamples would make sense, but as is, there is no basis for comparison. Why did I have to explain this? Go ahead and type your dumb "you got played" bullshit.

1. I don't want to move any bow to any other heroes. It been way to long to change anything now.
2. When coco said move typhoon and stag.
A. I would assume when you said move typhoon to ranger you are implying a stat change to that bow.
B. I don't fully understand why you said stag as well


If ranger gets a bow I don't want it to be a bow we already have ingame. Warden got lucky in the fact it has tepmest and typhoon. It would be like if mp got rups and another throwing spear that's almost the same stats.

A red ranger bow should be better than ullrs/stag but not as good as tempest/typhoon. Even if the ranger bow had more damage than typhoon that can be balanced through other factors.

An example of the dream bow for ranger for me would be a bow with 2 modes.

Mode 1 would be closer to the stats of stag than typhoon
Mode 2 would be higher damage than typhoon but at the cost of being slower and more important accuracy.

The 2 modes can make some sense given his taking longer to fire to the point accuracy is not longer 100%.

This is adding the bow could do with more than 1 weight to make it a bow people can't kite with very easily.
