Some doubts about NI skills - DearH - 17-01-2025

I Wonder if the Warden can get the 7 Power Bow. In Warband, the effective Power Bow skill is a bow difficulty +4, and the Typhoon difficulty is 1, which means that Warden only get a 5 power bow ???
Weight affects weapon proficiency? What is WPT?
If there are changes to skills in NI compared to warband, and some mechanics have been changed, I hope someone can sort them out and publish them, which is something that new players need to know
I'm sorry for my terrible English Blush

one of the main reasons why warden is bad:

As far as I know, you're right about how the power draw skill works in Warband, I think the power draw bonus damage cap is hardcoded, giving a bonus of 1.14 times the minimum between power draw skill of the character and the bow difficulty + 4. I always warn new players who want to go for warden that they don't gain any damage from the class itself, even though it shows +1 power draw. This is just misleading players in my opinion.
Still, there's a reason for having every bow and throwing weapon with 1 difficulty in the game, that allows any soldier to pick them up on the ground, for self defense or to be able to pick up arrows that make it impossible to use refill props on the map, or pick up tomes, for examples.
Despite not getting anything from the extra power draw listed on the website, the warden class still gains a noticeable extra shooting speed with bows and also gains access to better bows and arrows.

If you want to know how much better a warden performs at range when using their warden locked gear, compared to a non warden archer hero, that's something that can be calculated.

If you compare the non warden locked bows to warden locked bows, you'll see wardens gain +5 base damage (3 from the bow, 2 for the arrows no matter if you're using regular legendary gear or upgraded), up to 70p/66p with Raging Typhoon/Tempest + Blessed Zephyr, compared to 65p/61p for a Blessed Stag Bow/Cursed Ullr's Bane + Cursed Black Arrows. The current damage difference for each tier of gear should go as the following :
  • For the upgraded legendary tier, this leads to a raw damage increase of around 7.7% for the most damaging bow to around 8.2% for the quicker bow.
  • For the regular legendary tier, we get 8.3% to 8.9%, for a damage focused bow (Typhoon vs Stag Bow) compared to shooting speed focused bow (Tempest vs Ullr's Bane).
  • For the house crafted tier, Warden gain around 8.2% damage from using Huntress + Piercing/Dark Piercing Arrows compared to King's Will + Ebony/Elmwood Arrows (there is still no warden locked bow with the same shooting speed as Ebony/Elmwood Bow).
This doesn't take in consideration the lower shooting time which results in more barricade DPS (while also making it easier to peek).
I'd say warden is strong enough at what it's made for.

I hope that's clear and accurate enough.
