I bought one a few days ago and can't seem to be able to play any other character. Crossbowgirl is just too fun with this beautiful weapon.

Well, now I have a Penetrator as well.... Blah. I'll edit this post with the results of how that goes.
EDIT: It is really, really fun to just use both. Repeater is more useful for the first dozen waves of Hard mode and against Veteran Pikemen, but after Veteran Pikemen the Penetrator is really, really awesome. In conclusion, the Repeater is better for killing large amounts of low health enemies with no shields (or with shields at the shield wall) and the Penetrator is better against anything with some strength to it. I'm pretty sure anyone could have guessed that, though.

[/quote] Well he still doesn't have a Dragon Spear  And I've found much the same thing as Winter when using a repeater and bolt tosser/penetrator combo - they complement each other well as you can snipe enemy archers at range and volley the horde of huscarls at the shield wall

I think it is not good for long ranges .
it's just for short ranges like firing over the cades

I usually just take 3 repeaters and 1 bag of bolts, fire 18 without reloading
 (Of course there are better ways to do it, but I just do this when im messing around)
