Surely we can prepare in terms of maps, items, skeletons for unique bots etc? Or will it be the case that the team won't bother until they're certain NI II is a viable option within the engine?
Correct me if im wrong but these aren't even the full modding tools, isnt it just the very basics, for a complete overhaul like NI wont we have to wait for a while to get any tools that can actually be used.

It seems to be the case, would be cool if at least some work could be done but the problem there is as I've said above if they find they cannot re-create the game then its a waste of time.
some thing that boggled me is the fact that sliders would be nice on some stuff for example the script that bends walls in the scene editor, having a slider might make stuff work faster than having to try different numbers

Some really interesting thing on the heightmap is the fact that you can change it for each season - for example what if in winter there is a huge glacier and in summer there isn't`maybe the glacier is hiding a treasure chest or a weak wall that can be sieged easier? or a marsh in summer that is a river in spring etc.

Sure can. I focus on game code however and won't bother with mapping and modeling Smile
I guess this is the point where if people want to actively get involved in the development of NI 2, by learning how to model or create maps. A bigger team makes development a whole lot faster
