Upgrade the Graphics! - Dark_Robin - 07-04-2014 Well, your new models and everything are fine. The Native Warband graphics are not. There are numerous graphical packs that are free for modders to use, such as: Polished Landscapes: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=122423.0.html Realistic Colors: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=120098.0.html Calradia in Darkness: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=157802.0.html My personal preference (if it matters) would be probably in this order: 1. Realistic Colors 2. Calradia in Darkness 3. Polished Landscapes 4. Native Warband Just a thought. I have already added Realistic Colors to my personal version, but I am thinking that other players would like this as well. I apologize if there is already a thread for this, I looked through the first few pages of this board and didn't see anything. EDIT: Well, a lot of people have concerns about FPS rates, lag, etc. In my experience Realistic Colors slightly effects FPS, and Polished Landscapes can do a little more damage to FPS than that. This is only yin my experience of course, and with my 8gb ram I usually use realistic colors with no problems. However, Calradia in Darkness does not change FPS at all. Here is a comparison of Native vs. Calradia in Darkness, see for yourself: Re: Upgrade the Graphics! - Sir Spacey - 07-04-2014 Hmm this looks quite nice. Polished Landscapes even has a spoiler to add it to any mod. When I get home I'm definitely going to get these for myself. Thanks for sharing Re: Upgrade the Graphics! - Yabu - 07-04-2014 We totally don't need more pressure on the servers. I don't care if the game looks like a piece of shit, just that it runs ok. We are looking into it right now and see if something is worth going for. Apologizing for my ignorance Re: Upgrade the Graphics! - Dark_Robin - 08-04-2014 As something to note, Calradia in Darkness specifically says that it will not effect performance in any way. Re: Upgrade the Graphics! - Brego - 08-04-2014 Something else you could consider adding is these improved borders by ShaunRemo: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=20178.msg7115737.html#msg7115737 He's got a download link in his post there. What he uploaded is just an early version, but it still looks way better than what the native borders do Oh, and a lot of these packs are something players can just download and add themselves as they just change textures, but for you to use Polished Landscapes, the servers also should run PL as it adds a lot of trees with collision meshes. It does work to have only the player use it, but then you get these really buggy bumps into trees that the server doesn't know is there etc(if I remember correctly) Re: Upgrade the Graphics! - Yvain - 08-04-2014 Yeah, this looks interesting. Thanks for mentioning it, could be worth it. Re: Upgrade the Graphics! - Suns - 08-04-2014 Nice idea. If it gets implemented NI would be a more pleasurable experience. And because collision meshes are one the biggest performance issues ( we are spamming far too much cades) it wont be something we are going for any time soon. |
