Incorrect Serial Number
#1
Hi Guys! Smile

After having failed to connect to servers yesterday due to known reasons as
stated in another topic= these issues seem to be solved today as I could see
alot of players again on the servers.
However I still can't access them because of my serial number being invalid
somehow after typing it in.
I legally purchased a copy long time ago but I do not play with steam. I activated
the game via steam at that point and created an account which I believe does
no longer exist, as I do not like steam and must have deleted it after the activation
I believe. However I never had any problems connecting before yesterday, but
now I have to type in a serial number, which I'm being told, is incorrect after
typing it in.
Is this the end, or is there any chance to keep my accounts at NI?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Best Regards,

The servers seem to be responding better now but some people have been getting random user IDs each time they join a server.  This means gear is not available to them.  Because it started right after the overload to the TaleWorlds servers, it is very likely related and temporary.

If you are having trouble getting gear, spawning, or finding servers, please be patient and wait for Monday.  It is my hope that everything will return to normal very quickly after the "free weekend" is over.

I still cannot even connect to a server and get asked for my serial key.
After I had followed the instructions and edited the serial key in the
registry from an empty value to the one from my CD box, I still got the
same message, trying to get on a server: "Incorrect Serial Number". Then
I had to type in the number again with of course the same result.

I will wait a few days now, as I also had tried to contact the Taleworlds
Support about it, but I can imagine that they received quite a number
of similar e-mails.
In the end it seems I will have to buy it again, which is quite annoying.

I write and update this also for those that are not quite sure if they are
the only ones having this kinda more specific authentification problem...
