Chivalry: Nord Invasion

Hi everyone,

First off...I LOVE the mod nord invasion.  I really do.  I have several hundred hours played under warband just because of NI mod.  However, the core game it is built around does seem to need attention when it comes to actual combat mechanics.  What if the nord invasion mod was built around a different game?  Now, I do not understand the ins and outs of game development, but I do understand what I enjoy while gaming.

What if we created a nord invasion mod for Chivalry?  The mod tools are out there.  What is stopping us?  The melee combat is so much more intricate IMO and has room to grow.  A NI mod for chivalry based combat would be the ultimate game.  Is it even possible?  Why not? 


Can you imagine dozens of nords invading you weilding a frying pan in chivarly style combat?  It just seems like the ultimate experience.  What do you think?


I should note that part of the reason why I left NI was because of the joy of combat within Chivalry.

From what I know, you're one of the rare few who actually thinks the combat in Chivalry is better than that of Warband, and I can tell you I am not one of them myself. For me, having to scroll the mousewheel to do a certain attack is far more awkward than the system Warband uses.
Aside from that, Chivalry is probably based on an entirely different engine, which would require different skills from the devs than Warband does, and it will probably not allow for the same mechanics we use now, such as the wave system, loots, connection to the website, etc.
Anyway, in my opinion, Warband's combat mechanics are as close to perfect as it gets. Sure, it has it's flaws, but it's pretty darn epic when you overlook them.

In the end, I'd give this a big fat no. Stick to Warband.

P.S. All of this is not even mentioning having to build up the entire mod all over again for the devs, who, I can imagine, already have put thousands of hours in this mod.
P.P.S. And THEN there still is the fact that everyone has to start over again.

Besides the fact that I dont like chivalry, I guess you'd need new devs...
For example, warband can easily be modified with Python[IDLE]  and the Module System(sometimes its really hard though) and allows more data transfering (game - website) then chivalry ever will.
