Difficulty stat question

Hello, i am currently level 22 with 14 strength and 16agility along with infantry(1) and long bowman(2). I am in a house and got one of my friends to purchase me armour "Vaegir studded coat". But yet i cannot use it even though its difficulty "7". What i'm getting to is, i may not be able to buy it in market as it's tier three but it has difficulty 7 along with some helmets I CAN USE at difficulty 7. Please note i can use two handed swords which are difficulty 10, i assume this refers to strength. If this is the case then whats up with the armour?

It's class based, you can pick up weapons if you have the Strength for it from what I have seen, but you can't equip them through the character screen if you don't have the correct class, I'd imagine the same goes for armour ( except you can't pick armour up off of the floor lol ).

Basically, if you want to use that armour, you need the correct class, this is for balancing reasons.
