His post accounts for selling the processed wood after crafting it, therefore giving a net effect of gaining support xp in exchange for gold. Remember that "you're just buying the XP. Just the XP."

If you pre-suppose his values as a given: then by basic arithmetic (and a quick application of the transitive property) that would be the maximum value, yes.
