If I may add there has to be red (scarlet) in the banner somewhere    I hope we get some great designers for our banner.

I never understood why the blade was black and the background red, shouldn't be contrary?

And tbh I rather like the unmodified native Scarlet Blade banner, it has some style

If you don't find anyone to create a cool banner, I can ask to a mate to give an helping hand.

I was thinking of ideas for it (and was playing around with some prototypes).

Would we want some more weapon types in it (spear,arrow,bolt), or still just the sword? Stylized, or more graphic?

I was thinking of having the sword through a half-broken nord helmet.

edit: Here are some mockups. Of course, it is easy to change colong/position/size of elements as I'm using an SVG file. It really just depends on what kind of keel the house wants to have. I think the dark, rich colors look good for the background. I've provided some ideas. The real decision would be what we want the primary color of the emblem/shields/heraldic armor to be. A dark red might look good and still give the "Scarlet" feel when in the smaller emblem.

If anyone wants the SVG to play with their own variants, let me know, and I can supply it.

2012-4-21 - went through and redid prototypes with the correct layer blending so the flag texture shows up in all elements, added triple swords, added Blondin's submissions. Somebody stop me, or I'll just keep generating new ones.

Now how about a combination a scarlet striped blade stuck through a skull wearing a nord helmet pouring with blood but not on a pure red background

edit: blood dripping is harder to do, so I could probably do that once we decide on a design, but it might also be over the top.

Number 4 looks more like it maybe move the skull down shrink it a little and maybe getting some sort of blade design on the hilt and the blade itself very nice work Galen

well, I had the skull centered so it would look right on the emblems above our heads, otherwise, only part of it will show.

I was putting sword variants up there to see "drawn" vs "outline".  I could just take the drawn one and colorize it.

All i can say is great work lets see what everyone elses view is and we will decide from there if accepted you have just gained 50k
