Two problems here, first and foremost, the community is not unfair, you're just a greedy oaf, much like person that scammed you. The ownness of finding the value of said offered items does not fall on the buyer to inform, but you yourself. Calling an entire community unfair because you're to lazy/ill-informed as to value items yourself is just ridiculous. accept what you sold it for and don't be such a greed because you may or may not have been able to sell it for more in the past/present/future.

Second of all, what makes you think that the stag bow, let alone the deadshot is worth 40m. the first is a slow and sluggish bow and the second a class locked item (to not a very popular or effective class)  that doesn't lend many more benefits than those previously offered by other legendary Xbows. By my valuation on crossbows, you came out with a pretty handy spear in the end, one from odin himself, and the other guy ended up with the hard mode drop. I guess this reneges my first point.

Going on from this at lest you have about 20m+ so your doing better than 99% of the rest of the people playing Ni.
And you got it for free in the 1st place so don't complain......

While I'm not happy you got scammed (as in you acted on misinformation), if you don't know the value or can't be bothered to quickly search the forum, you likely did not "deserve" the drop. However, it's not strictly "unfair," you and the trade recipient both have equal access to the same information.

Disclaimer: The official (and contentious) stance of NI is that everyone deserves any reward unless they glitch.

You try looking up Deadshot in the search function.  There are 6 references that the search function picks up to the crossbow at all.  One is this thread, 2 are threads about drops (Legendary item thread and Nord Beastiary), 1 is it being suspected as being added in a later patch back in august, and the last 2 are trading threads.  1 is Blame's WTK thread that was put up after this happened, The other just says "Thx to everyone that offered and congratz to the person that recieved it".

So there is NO information findable via the search function on the price of a deadshot.  Enough of the your fault for not searching please.

this makes me cry. 6 results means it's rare. it has higher stats than all other xbows. it's worth a lot.

Then post asking what it's worth, cross-referencing against what the buyer offers you. Also if there are so few results, many with no prices, then you can deduce that it's rare. You can also send PMs to the people who have sold or bought them and ask what they paid for it. And if after that there are still no responses, ask your friends. Obviously, the buyer has a vested interest in keeping the price low, and a reasonable (read: non-naive) person will conclude that they're getting low-balled rather quickly.

People just want to make victims out of the misinformed. So yet another misinformed person got preyed upon, welcome to human nature and every aspect of capitalistic business in the world. It's time to stop coddling people.

All very true, thanks Malong. However, though this is a cruel world I'd like to see it a bit less cruel among this community.
