Character's name doesn't register in game

I changed my character's name to [SR]Royal-Guard_LonelyRaptor on the website but it doesn't register in game and prompts me to activate my account instead.
Please help.. My ID is 2516178

you can't use - in your name
StuStu-All I'll say buddy is Arbilest or however it's spelt, crafting price means nothing in NI, if you are a long time player you should know that yourself, I'm done arguing with someone who's naive as ****

You can use the "-" character, I just created and activated a character with that name to test it

There have been issues with the dash (-) character before. Sometimes it works but sometimes it has unexpected failures. Best to avoid it.

Bleh I fixed it by changing to a shorter name, I think the previous name was a bit too long for the game.
The "-" still works, just had to waste another 5k :/
