farewell event
#1
I didn't ever see mod like this empty before, you know we had time where activity were quite low however now it is like nothing listed even on auction hall or forum pages. So let's just gather around at certain time that will be determined by event admins, we can arrange with more slots so we can invite everyone who feels like to farewell this mod. We all spent horrible time on this mod, had amazing fun, quotes, arguments, memes etc. Some of these led great friendships or the opposite, whatever. Beyond everything this mod at least deserves offical farewell event where we can talk about stuff from the past times, but (saying this to event admins) just don't focus on rules through at least on this event, an event where we can remember our old memories and make bullshit out of it and of course farewell to this mod. Would be legend thing for me.

Personally, I feel sad seeing my favourite mode in this state. Currently, only 4-5 people are playing the game. I would really like to see the mode revived, and an event would be wonderful.

the idea of an event isn't bad, but I'd rather not call it ''farewell event'', because it sounds like that's the actual end of it and I'd hate that. people say ''you never stop playing *insert game*, you just take long breaks'' and I think NordInvasion is exactly one of those games. just because nobody is playing now, doesn't mean it'll be like that forever
Would be a shame to put a single Durendal as a loot history...

The game has been this empty before. Summer 2023 was another time that both the loot log and auction hall were empty. I recall many runs from that time that had less than 5 people. I'd be remiss to not give Jean credit for putting up with my terrible skills and carrying me through so many runs at that time.

Since then there have been several surges and fadings of interest, new maps have been added, theres been a crafting update, new players have come and gone, old players have returned and left again.

It may be quiet now, but there's no need for a farewell until the servers are shut down.

At the end of the day, this mod has much turned into a seasonal experience. Every now and then there is a influx of players, sometimes a large influx which led to myself and Midren taking up the roles of (for him) hosting NA servers back up and both of us working on map updates to bring to you all to enjoy for that (speaking for myself here) I enjoy bringing to the community.

I first started playing this mod when I was about 15 years old give or take. I'm now 27 going on 28 and there is still some people playing this mod, to me as a contributor and admin it has massively surprised me that this mod has lasted as long as it has and likely will continue to. This time of year naturally isn't surprising that numbers have dwindled yet again, as is typical for the end of the year across all games so I would disagree that there should be a "Farewell Event" as such but if anything a celebration event for this mod lasting as long as it has, the people we've all met, the experiences and times had in servers etc. Hell, those that read this thread are likely a testament to the commitment they have to this mod. What started as a simple premise back in 2011-ish grew into one of the most popular multiplayer mods of mount and blade warband history.

I'll still join the occasional server here and there and wait for the time of year where the population gains back again to at least some degree. See you all in 2026!
A loot a year keeps the interested here

I do maps btw lol

Maybe not a farewell event but an event with public server where you could vote for map change would be nice. Maybe do this event daily or weekly. I think we have enough active player to have a full server if we could coordinate our play time.

The problem is with DDoS attacks. It happens often when the are more players in the server. Is it possible to have a firewall that could work for DDoS attacks?

Half of this mod is the items/trading not even opening the game mountain blade itself. I got burnt out end of 2019 ish basically because there was literally nothing that I couldn't afford that I wanted. No goal that felt like a challenge worth fighting for. When looting gives no high and no real aim as its diminishing returns of "hey I want 2x studded just because im lazy" thats not very satisfying...

In a way my feature requests while often not feasible was the canary in the coal mine of basically saying yeah, this game's gonna get boring fast once people catch up to me in terms of gear deflation etc.. Once you hit the peak of the mountain whats the point on being on the mountain you may as well find a new one

People including myself have had a massive sense of sunk cost fallacy in our time being active. While hard to break in the moment once you do break it its the feeling of.. I was rich in 2019 and im still rich "2026" and what has changed in the game? basically nothing on my end apart from heroes merging which hey thats a few weeks of dopamine
