Hello, I am reporting this as I am quite offended. Rarely I get offended while gaming as I am in my mid 20s and have been gaming for a long time, I know what I am signing up for when I launch certain MP games.
However, intentional Islamophobia offends me with a guarantee. Especially in a game and community where it is not supposed to be expected or present at all. This game is nowhere close to my expectations of MP in CSGO/CS2 or Hearts of Iron 4, etc.
Anyway, here is the background. I will insert each screenshot then go ahead and explain below it for context. I do not have screenshots for the entire conversation unfortunately, but they are in the server logs. Server was NI_Hard_EU1 around 4:45pm - 5:00pm PDT.
Context: Never opened with "I swear Reapsot is such a fucking creep, he has another minion on the server right now xD" I responded with "?" and "he has messages" (reference to Steam messages, as Reapsot generally uses Steam to reveal his knowledge of in-game chats)
Never said along the lines of "Isn't it obvious with a former member?" I then asked, "you mean Gromulder?" Never responded with "Aye." After that I told him it was not Gromulder and I suspect either another unknown person OR an invisible client (if possible). However, Never decided to double down with "You wanna bet?" I agreed with "oh ya we can bet". I was a bit miffed after seeing these responses. Gromulder and Reapsot had a falling out recently (no idea the exact date) and I've known about it since last week when Gromulder told me personally about it. (Reapsot removed and blocked me recently last week.)
Following this, I asked Never what his "bet" would be, knowing from my perspective he is betting to lose. (Non-serious bet to begin with.) I then proceeded to explain to Never why baseless accusations such as described above are offensive to ex-LR members or past associates of Reapsot. Reapsot has continually been abusive to LR AND ex-LR members. What bothered me about this is Gromulder's age and the vulnerability Reapsot often chooses to exploit. I was there when Reapsot pulled his whole LR tax scheme against Astrial. I defended Astrial against Reapsot in the same way. If there is one thing I am against, do not bully kids or those significantly younger than you such as minors. Especially those with language barriers. Gromulder has a significant language barrier with English which made him unable to defend himself or comprehend what Never was doing (harassment) and accusing him of. I know this because I have known Gromulder since I was in LR and have spoken to him multiple times, even despite leaving LR myself and ins and outs with Reapsot. Speaking to Gromulder on Steam later he even thanked me for what I did today, as he understood that he was being mentioned by someone but did not fully understand what exactly was going on.
Anyway, after explaining the whole abuse thing with Reapsot to Never, I told him he should refrain in the future from bullying ex-LR members due to past associations. The irony considering Reapsot and Gromulder are NOT in communication to my knowledge. They do not even have each other on Steam. Gromulder is even friends on Steam with other ex-LR members. I have no idea if this is common knowledge or not, but when you are in LR and are a minor, Reapsot "polices" your contacts on Steam, Discord, anywhere. He does this to isolate people who are significantly younger than him to manipulate them. I am putting this here as proof from my perspective that Gromulder and Reapsot are not in communications. Despite all of this, Never started backtracking. (Not in the screenshot above) Never claimed he never mentioned Gromulder, yet I was the one who did. This is quite confusing being I was the one who asked Never explicitly in the chat before, "you mean Gromulder?" Following his ""Isn't it obvious with a former member?" comment. That also does not mention his "Aye." answer he gave to my query. He may not have explicitly said Gromulder's name, but he confirmed it implicitly while introducing it himself with the "former member" segment.
Okay, now this is where the main segment of this report is for.
Context again: I tried explaining to Never he literally implicitly name dropped Gromulder not explicitly and to just admit it then move on after he got combative after attempting to prove his accusation against Gromulder wrong. Then Never proceeded to drop "You move on, from having some fucking "Holy War" against me."
Now, this is what actually pissed me off and made me angry as Islamophobic (not all "Islamophobic" comments get me as there are certain kinds in my opinion but an intentional and obvious jab like this gets me) comments are not acceptable to me. I have made it no secret since I kinda entered the community back in late 2024 I follow Islam. I do not care and am willing to get personal about this to explain why this is unacceptable from Never. So, Never is from Poland and I assume he is Polish and Christian probably, right? (Assuming this due to comments he has made in the past on background, religion, etc.) Here is a secret, I was born Catholic-Christian. I converted to Islam many years ago and have made this no secret to other Muslim individuals in the community here. (They can probably even vouch for me if they remember.) The irony here is that Never thinks it is ok to make an obvious "jihad" comment during Ramadan. (I have also made it no secret I am fasting; I take it seriously.) Making comments about "Holy War" or jihad is not a joke. Quite ironic that despite the same roots we both share he thinks it's fine to say such a thing. Look, I've grown up in America my entire life and am obviously Westernized. I get along with Christians, Jews, anyone. My best friends irl and online have been Christians. I am literally in a clan here that are probably 99% Christian...I despise the whole "us vs them" rhetoric like that as to me those are fighting words. I can tell you for a fact, I would definitely feel a type of way about fighting if those comments were made to me in real life. Such instances have happened before to me in person, of course I have held back as I know becoming violent only proves their point of "us vs them." Violence over such words like that is meaningless, I am only trying to articulate how it feels, I guess. My whole point is, if you are not Muslim you should not speak on "Holy War" or jihad or even joke about it like that, period. Particularly from someone who is not Muslim and does not even know what "jihad" fully means.There is a lot of abhorrent and horrible history behind the "violent" perspective with the concept that does not need to be explained.
Anyway, I am aware of the "proof" from Never's perspective why he believes Gromulder has ties to Reapsot. I have spoken to Gromulder on Steam after being shown this "proof" for further clarification. I discovered that as my prior belief formulated from a week ago, he is not involved or in communication with Reapsot. Kinda think a general misunderstanding was present. I am willing to show the chats between Gromulder and I as there are significant language barriers present which makes communication sometimes misunderstood from the proper and intentional meaning.
All I am asking for is to tell Never to quit making comments as he did today. I do appreciate he brings a lot of people on to the game.
My last point, I am willing to accept Never may be fully right in this and myself fully wrong. I am also willing to accept a warning for bad behavior if my anger got the best of me and my comments to Never are interpreted as harassment or escalation. I sincerely apologize for that if that is the case. Hope that this explains it all. Open to DMs on discord for clarification or anything else needed, BTW.
