[Poll] Forced Manual Block?
#11
voted for manual
#12
Manual, I will always have it turned onto manual in my own options regardless of the server allowing autoblock, autoblock combat makes me feel empty inside so I refuse to use it.
#13
Autoblock gains my vote. If bots behaved in any way like a player then Manual blocking would prove nice, but its simply not the case.
#14
Definitely manual block.

There must be some way to fix the bot blocking issue, right?

There is not one logical argument in this thread. Bad carma or not. There was a controlled experiment done in the 70s. A room full of people were showed a set of sticks, all different sizes. One of the guys was told to point out to the group, that the shorter stick was the longest. A large majority of the group agreed, even though that stick was clearly shorter. The experiment suggested that that irrational thought can sometimes play a large part in majority vote.

If we get more gold or xp from using manual block, sure. If there is no advantage, then what's the argument here? I am all for manual block, but not at the cost of alienating people. First the bot block bug has to be fixed.

Alyosha....what are you talking about? Experiments on the nazi phenomenon have nothing to do with this internet poll.

We're saying that we would like to have games on manual block because the point of this game is to have a challenge. Who's even considering economics here? Although I will agree that preferably the bot blocking problem should be fixed.

In all reality, this is only a decision for one server as opposed to the mod itself, so why not have two servers with manual block. It would be interesting to see how popular they would be.

I think the best would be autoblock in some servers and manual block in someone else.

What? That experiment was done on conformism. Given some of those experiments were done due to the actions of the Nazies, we know why most of the officers, and some guards, did what they did in those camps. In a interview done by a American psychologist during the Nuremberg Trials, one officer from Auswitch stated that he was providing for his family, and when asked what should be done with him, the officer also stated that he should probably be put to death. This tells you that the man still had a moral center. It's not like you would be praised as a dissident and paraded on tv for speaking up about the slaughter of 6 million jews back then. Records also show that a lot of German citizens knew as well, but everyone learned about it after the war, and a many said that while Hitler was bad, he did create jobs. Even as a monster, the man was given constructive criticism by its people. None of this has anything to do with that experiment.

If a person goes with the group on the basis of irrational thought, that just means that said induvidual has a weak mind. That is something else entierly. That's nothing new. Now, if the experiment involved a vote, on whether or not a town should buy an incinerator, that would be something else entierly.

I think he is asking you if you could provide a more clear basis as to how this is related to the topic of discussion, which is whether or not to enforce manual block on a single server.
