I have not experienced this myself as I am a sergeant but this is a quote from one of the other players in the game:

Yea it's a known bug. Will have it fixed for the next patch.

Are you guys planning on fixing other weapons that don't accumulate xp in the coming patch as well? The great long axe doesn't give xp in 2h, but it does in polearm. I think there is a separate item ID for the 2h mode if that helps. Also, punching enemies doesn't give xp. Not a big deal though haha.

Yeah I'm going to try to get all of them fixed. Unarmed I can't do anything with though since its not really a weapon.

Just got it! I made 90k in 2 days... wow. The bow just doesn't give anything to the user, people around him get assist exp.
