my best friend is about 28 years old and has been playing all of them since yellow. He literally owns all of the pokemon, owns every single game including white and black just to make sure he owns every last pokemon ever. He has a ton of level 100 pokemon and has found a handful of shiny pokemon as well.

You friend has achieved that which I aspire to achieve. I've been playing since blue and own at least one game from every gen, except black and white.
