Any Love for crossbows?

Self-explainatory, crossbows need some love. All I could find in the market are light crossbows/crossbows that are considered even weaker than the standard short bow due to its long reload time. Where are the more powerful crossbows that pack the punch to deal with the pesky zweihanders? But considering that the infantry would have ranged capabilities with them, the stronger crossbows should be best put in the archer class for a diverse ranged weapon choice.
