you could cut the bottom of the chainmail as on the picture i linked, improves mobility quite alot, taking that i owned a steel chainmail once.
I've thought about it, but as I just got it today I've decided against any hasty remodeling
The mobility wasn't quite that bad my first time out, but I didn't actually do much other than pose for pictures and play around with some old moves. I'd be more concerned about the lamellar being too long (which it isn't, thankfully), since that is a very unrelenting material and offers much more resistance than the mail.
