The major overhaul for Crossbows was reaching pin-point accuracy at Sharpshooter with 280 weapon proficiency, a damage increase, and a new bolt, the "Unscratchable Gold Bolts," that gives a +10 damage increase and also increases max ammo to 60, up from 50 from Heavy Bolts. Available to Sharpshooters.
