I agree with both of you, just mix it together: when a new player makes a mistake, it's a best practice to tell him what he dd wrong (so he learns and knows what not to do next time) but just do it in a polite manner.
The screenshot Soviet posted: the guy apparently got mad (with a good reason or without it, can't say) but what is important he also said: "why cant you just help me play and learn instead of raging at me". This is essential: (us vets) let's educate, not rage. Result: gg
