Oddly enough, statswise the Impervious will actually take a bit more damage, hence the size difference. The only bots with which the Bulwark may be destroyed faster are high tier Berserkers, Jotnes, Thors Chosen in two handed mode, and Odins Chosen in two handed mode.
Still, I'll look at these shields in the near future to make sure the Impervious is the one with a bit more durability to make up for the Bulwark's size.
