Point 2)
Reporting players in game can go a long way towards help with that. If they are actually breaking the rules with it than they can be kicked if we know about. Now having said that, there are times when no admins are available so not all reports can be responded to. I personally respond to every report that i can.
Point 3)
Most of the remaining invisible walls/Barriers are there to keep people from glitching. The amount of spots that we could get to but the bots cannot is staggering. If there are ones you think are misplaced feel free to report them as map bugs. But again, We can get to so many places where the bots can't its scary.
Point 4)
Probably because Pikes have their own proficiency and balance. Pikes themselves are very very different to use than Swords. And Halberd weapons are 1 hard to balance for Infantry, and 2 a bit different due to the length.
Also your example is Highly Flawed in that they came into being in 1480. IE Renaissance era. Not actually middle ages. Something that would be more medival would be the Scottish Pikes from the Scottish war for Independence under Wallace and Bruce. But those were very much Pikes and again very different than Swords men.
Halberdier is a heavy armor class that uses pikes. If Heavy armor is what you want to use with pikes, than that is the one to go.
