I want to know if the reach of DWP is sufficient to defeat Nord soldiers. Also, what are its typical application scenarios? What do you think is the most significant difference between Mortifer and DWP?

The DWP reach is 70, making it one of the shortest weapons in the game, it has a very good attack speed and has very good damage. Using the right swing will allow hitting targets further away, the overhead and left swing should only be used if you're close enough to your target. It's a short reach, but it's long enough to be able to kill nords easily, unless you're fighting against multiple two handers at once, like entranced berserkers on hard. On a side note, the DWP has bonus against shields, which isn't particularly useful apart from breaking some boss' shields on hard (wave 12 and 15).

Between the damage type and weapon reach, I'd say the reach is the most significant one in dangerous situations, less reach means you need to be closer to nords to hit them, and will make it more likely to get hit by another one behind.
