Merry Christmas Everyone

Not to sound like a wet blanket, but it's a christian orthodox holiday. People use to actually give money to the less fortunate, poor people, pesants, street folk, or whatever they were called at any given time. Christmas was originally a pagan feast called Saturnalia. One of the conditions of christian conversion, was that the pagans would retain their festivities. It involved criminals, good food, naked dances, torture, and death. The happy pagan folk actually thought doing this would clense their souls.

I guess we don't kill people anymore, and most don't give money to the poor, unless you are on tv and have identity problems, or you are Bill Gates and need to compensate for obvious flaws, but we sure can open those presents!

Anyway. Happy christmas! Everyone seems so happy.
