Afaik in a real shieldwall the shielders in the frontline did not only shield but used short swords to stab over and under the shield without taking the shield down. What I want with this thread is to discuss the place of this in NI and discuss the roll as a shielder, a roll that gives less money and XP than for the rest of the team that get to slash/shoot and/or throw. At the same time those players wouldn´t last long without the shielders.
Shielding can at time be quite boring and gives only small rewards. Many players seem reluctant to shield and often the same players get to shield time after time especially on public servers.
The stab should only be possible with short and fast weapons i think so You have to choose carefully what equipment You bring in to the fight.
Is there a chance that a stab can be implemented for the shielders and/or give more glory and to the shielder profession?
