reforging weapons

Is it possible to add upgrading weapons  in crafting? 
For example  when you already got 1h weapon of certain level you would be able to upgrade /reforge it to another 1h of higher level by adding certain mats.
Something like  this : grosse messer + 4 hardened metal = steel cutter
