name changing bug

I changed my name and payed 5000 gold and i put a parentheses in it apparently i can't do that so now when i join a game of nord invation i dont have any of my stuff and i cant change my name because i don't have any money so i don't know what to do plzzzzzzzzzz help

Are you sure you are using a character in Warband with your new name? If you try to connect to a server with a character with your old name, it won't work.
