There seems to be a bug going around right now where people who respec aren't getting all the stats they should (possibly from their original recruit class), but Co_Worm's already fixing it.

SO the skirmisher will be able to do what? Will it have something special that let's say snipers or commando won't or is is it still just better to combine some class with 2 lvls of skirmisher?

Pikeman + heavy infantry , or pikeman+archer+infantry has 10 athletics.

You also get a spear, some spears have 42-48 pierce.

That results in oneshotting ALOT of enemies, even hardmode ones(MANY of them) - And 2 shotting things like Einherjars.

Also, you can outrun berserkers and tricksters

But commando's are best with heavy armor, and reduce their abillity when using light armor. Skirmisher's are made for light armor, also with their weaponkinds.

Forexample, i use a pike rather than my Snake Spear , and i can backpeddle untill 12th wave, and kill everything - without having to block. It's hard to do, and you do have to turn and run abit sometimes, but it's possible.

If a commando wore light armor, he would be able to outrun zerkers and tricksters - but it would be way harder for him to kill them, than the skirmisher.
Since the skirmisher is good at hit-run, while the commando doesn't really have that good polearm skill nor good long-range weapons. You could use a decent 2h, or a sun pike or something, but your abillity to hit-run and backpeddle would be lower than that of a skirmishers.

To the point: Yes, commando's can go light armor - But that would be like taking a skirmisher and reducing his abillities, so why not just go skirmisher?=P
