I've decided upon using The Leather Jerkin:

Weight: 6
Body armor: 24
Leg armor: 10

It's not nearly as good as Highlander Armor
Weight: 16
Body armor: 40
Leg armor: 21

but it weighs a lot less. Did somebody else find better light armor to use?

scrape that, ranged units kill me too quickly, I went back to highlander armor.

YAY, they made highlander armor only have a weight of 12 instead of 16 in the new patch
