New armor for Legionnaire
#11
You know Elmo's is just one of my pictures, but recolored, right? Tongue
Though it is a good idea, I'll see what I can make of it.
As for a Heraldic version, Perception is working on that. 72 armor for a dedicated Legionnaire armor seems a bit much to me, tbh. That'd make it at least as expensive as the Heraldic Trans (also 72 armor), and the Legionnaire is supposed to be the lighter hero class, from what I can tell.
I was never here, you saw nothing...

Motivational tip: When you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and say confidently, "That's a nice head you have on your shoulders."

how about banded mail armour with cross colours like this...

Maybe Red + blue/black to stick with the Swadian colours or maybe  a slightly darker Swadian symbol on the top right part of the chest piece?

(...)

Real nice one, Elmo, gj.

However, I'd love to see a decent heraldic. I do feel we're missing heraldic armours for commando. There is the Heraldic mail (50) and Heraldic Trans (72), the later crazy expensive for a tiny +2 update over regular Trans.

For non-heraldic in between we have: 60 strong marketplace armours (fantastic value for money) and Swadian Heavy Lamellar / Striped 68 strong, still very affordable. Then the price goes high for Trans.

So if we're talking about a Lagionnaire dedidcated armour, I do think it should be Trans level in strength and cheaper or similar cost and a bit stronger (72 perhaps). Like mentioned above, I'd like to see it heraldic.

As for original idea from Woodz, I am not sure if a dedicated Legionnaire armour should be light (means also weak, since making it strong and light looks off-balance to me). Surely, it could make Legio able to kite perhaps, but I have 2 remarks on that:

1. if a Legio should drop everything except throwing weapon and go kite, then we already have a perfect kiter - MP. I do not feel we need an infantry substitute...
2. what is so fine about Legio is that this is a very versatile character: can fight in melee with high success (if equipped with a decent 1H), can shield well (if equipped with a decent shield), can throw if behind cades and not shielding... If also brings good support item, Legio is very helpful for the team in a variety of ways. Why try to reprofile it? Job for infantry is just to stand ground IMHO.

PS.  please, do correct if I missed some armour options.

ok 1st thing like i said it a "option to trans" so meaning if you don't like this armor don't get it not hard is it Tongue

2nd yes it will be not as good as trans but well i don't need 70+10 armor for normal and when i say that like 1-17 waves

3rd i don't think this is going to change the game at all as it will just make a armor that i and others can wear it not like it changing the Stats of Legionnaire!

4th as for the armor

Trans                                Legionnaire Armor NOT REALY STATS
Weight35                                      Weight22?
Body armor70                                Body armor65?
Leg armor31                                  Leg armor28?

and yes ik but it is a good idea

This way its adapting to the background color of your banner. Applying the actual banner without weird mistakes showing up on the armor is a tad more difficult because of the way the texture is done, possible though. So, I dunno, maybe later..

Keep in mind that there is a guardian armor thing, which is a Banded Mail Armor with different color. Not really sure what color is that - a screenshot in a house crafting topic is kinda dark and its not something you see in game often (only one person have it? Was it Irish?). It might look like a 2nd from the right.

First of all,  Verloren Plate which is Zwiehander only has the exact same stats as the Halfplate and Heraldic trans except, it is 5 lighter.  Given that,  It would make sense for the legionnaire armor to have simaller stats and crafting cost.  Or you could go with Imperial which has 1 more body armor than defender does.

Secondly,  Why on earth do the shielding classes get the best armor?  Why isn't it the One handed classes which are designed for fighting up close in melee?  Shielders are designed to stand there with their shield up, only moving forward with the rest of the commandos at the end of the wave.

My own opinion is that Legionnaire, Sentinel and Aventurier should get access to the best armor's for their class.  Not Royal Guard, Pavise Champion, and Ranger.  Not saying that they should not get their own armor.  But it makes more sense to me for the ones who are supposed to get up close in melee to have the best armor.

Yeah, because standing safely behind RG and doing the same overhead slash over and over is "fighting close in melee"  :Smile Actually, I'm fine with the best armour for legionnaire and zwei, if they are going to hold the line without RG cover  Tongue

BTW next time someone tell my RG to pull ranged I can respond by saying "sorry but I'm designed to stand here, not for moving  8)

Than you have not been playing with good legionnaires.  You know what I do?  I go out well before any of the RG move out and take on the nord range that are left.  Legionnaire's are designed for fighting in close quarters.

Also you miss interpreted my statement about RG's, and probably on purpose.

Oh, so good legionnaires are those dead guys that spawn more bots to bash my RG shield  Wink. AFAIK There was some topic about what actually the legionnaires are for - you good legionnaires should sit down a discuss what is to be "good" since your opinion kinda vary in that matter  :Smile
