Slashing pikeman

From your experience, can pikeman be the strongest slasher in game? By stats, Marauder with a decent polearm should be able to inflict highest cutting damage while Zweihanders can use hammers...

Anyone has both Marauder and Zwei to give a comparison?

Yes, i had, I had Stone Maul and Eastern Glaive, both were pretty decent

got mjolnir+ durendal on zwei and pok on marauder, nothing beats mjolnir on zwei, its just insane

strongest slasher is zwei simply looking at damage. now, when your asking me whats effect, taking lenth into it aswell and the speed, marauder probs wins this.

I was thinking the same. Also polearm length may be advantageous... Wouldn't that be nice to have a strong polearm that deal blunt damage?

i can't be bothered double checking, but i think that marauders do deal more damage with their weapon prof than zwei does. but as assassine has said, zwei has access to mjolnir/stone maul which are pretty bloody unstopable. however, commando is painfully more expensive to equip properly. since pikeman slashing legendaries seem to be worth close to nothing these days you could easily purchase something like a naval glaive, sun pike, dragon halberd and probably outslash most zweis around today for a fraction of the price. the other edge marauder has over zwei is its access to poking weapons like the sarissa, thunder, d spear, Pike of kings. the later 3 of the 4 being either extremely rare these days or extremely underused. poking polearms have that lovely pierce damage which in the hands of a veteran of the spear, can be more deadly than mjolnirs and durendals put together. however, it is extremely awkward to use and takes skill at using both the speed bonus system and swing type system that is present in NI.

marauder with a mangler will outslash a zwei on all but heavy shielded waves like followers or if you get unlucky with spawns coming to your slashing spot

Oh yes! Also Mangler dealing piercing damage on swing seems to be OP! Both pikeman's dream... Maybe someday...  :
